Bathroom Vanity Mirror
The Vanity Mirror Is The Main Thing, So Choose WiselyOf all the elements that make the bathroom into a place that is perfect for grooming and relaxation there is one element that really needs to be chosen with care, because if it is chosen badly it can affect the whole look of the room. Many people would say that it is the bathtub, sink, and toilets set that are the most important, but I really essential ingredient to any bathroom is the bathroom vanity mirror. This article will take a look at some of the styles and considerations to be borne in mind when choosing a bathroom mirror for your particular needs. The first thing to think about is the overall look of the bathroom itself, and whether you have a traditional bathroom, possibly done in a very ornate and antique style, or whether you have a modern bathroom filled with contemporary materials such as steel, chrome, and glass. Obviously you want the mirror to fit in with the style, and should choose an antique vanity mirror, ornate possibly, and probably made of wood such as oak, walnut or mahogany, if you have an antique styled bathroom and want a traditional vanity mirror to complement the design. And if the bathroom is contemporary, a modern vanity mirror, perhaps with a chrome frame, brushed steel frame or glass surround, would be more fitting. You also need to think about illumination and lighting for the bathroom, and therefore should make serious consideration about buying a lighted vanity mirror in order to make sure you can see exactly what you were doing. There are different types of lighting for different situations, but using halogen lighting with a bathroom vanity mirror can be a great choice, as can be vanity LED lighting and spotlights, low-voltage halogen lighting also being a great favorite. Bathroom vanity fluorescent lighting can be a good choice though it may be too harsh for many people. The Framed Bathroom Vanity Mirror Looks GreatOnce you have decided on whether to buy a traditional vanity mirror, antique style, or a modern vanity mirror, the main choice you need to make is between a frameless mirror or a framed vanity mirror. The frame material will have a great effect on the overall look of the mirror and the effect on the room, and a wood framed vanity mirror, especially an oak framed mirror or a walnut framed mirror [in fact any type of dark wood mirror frame] will add a very traditional feel, and is probably the best type of antique vanity mirror you can buy. Another style is a rubbed oil mirror frame, and this fits in beautifully with the antique vanity style. The frameless vanity mirror is usually one that fits in with a contemporary bathroom style, with the mirror itself usually having a very thin piece of chrome around the edge, or possibly a thin brushed steel frame, bevel edged, though still looking like a frameless mirror type. Bathroom Vanity Mirror Shapes Vary a LotThe other main choice you need to make is that bathroom vanity mirror shape, and here again certain shapes will fit in well with either a traditional or antique vanity, or a modern type vanity unit. For the traditional vanity type a good choice can be the old-fashioned round mirror or oval mirror, with a heavy wood frame. These can often be mixed and integrated with ornate wood vanities to give a very antique feel. Lighting can be achieved by using low-voltage bathroom vanity halogen lighting, with possibly one or two halogen spotlights to add a design touch. If you have a very tall antique vanity, probably a wooden type, a full-length oblong mirror can be a good choice though these will be very heavy. For a more contemporary feel, a frameless square mirror or even hexagonal mirror can work really well, though there are several styles of modern round mirrors [frameless types] and oval mirrors that can work well with a modern bathroom vanity, especially a modern granite countertop or the more traditional double sink bathroom vanity with PVC countertop. When it comes to bathroom vanity mirror sizes. It really depends on what you will need to mirror for, with a large bathroom vanity mirror being the excellent choice for overall grooming, and a small vanity mirror, possibly a magnifying vanity mirror, being a good choice for makeup application and general grooming. You also need to make sure that the materials of the mirror will fit in with the overall bathroom decoration, with a stainless steel mirror or one made of chrome being suitable for modern decor, while antique mirrors, usually brass or copper rimmed mirrors, be excellent for the traditional environment. Take time to think about all these considerations and you will probably find the mirror which is perfect for your bathroom style. The mirror is an important part of the bathroom vanity and the choice will greatly affect the overall look of the bathroom vanity itself in the bathroom as a whole. |
